What operators should be able to verify before they switch
Security, Data Ownership and Access
Operators are being asked to move core business records into a new system, so security and data questions deserve documented answers rather than reassurance. This page sets out how CabTaxi approaches those questions, what is documented today and what is confirmed in writing during evaluation.
What CabTaxi documents for operators
CabTaxi provides a written summary of the current controls relevant to a deployment - hosting, access control, backup approach, retention and subprocessors - as part of the evaluation process.
CabTaxi will not publish certifications, uptime figures or integration claims that engineering has not verified and that cannot be supported contractually. Where a control is not documented yet, that is stated plainly rather than implied.
- Where the platform is hosted and which infrastructure providers are involved.
- How user access, roles and permissions are controlled.
- How bookings, driver records and account data are backed up.
- How long data is retained and what happens on exit.
- Which third-party subprocessors are used and for what purpose.
- How incidents and support escalations are handled.
Data ownership and export
Operators keep ownership of their business data. CabTaxi supplies software; the operator's booking, driver, customer and account records remain the operator's records.
Before switching to any dispatch platform, an operator should confirm what can be exported, in what format and who is responsible for validating it. CabTaxi reviews the available source data and agrees the scope in writing before any migration is confirmed.
The exit process should be understood before signing, not after. Ask what a data export contains and how long it takes as part of the commercial review.
Questions to ask CabTaxi during evaluation
A documented answer to each of these questions is more useful than a general security statement.
- Where is the platform hosted and which subprocessors are involved?
- How are user roles and branch permissions enforced?
- What backup schedule applies and how is restoration tested?
- How is driver document data stored and who can access it?
- What data can be exported, in what format and on request?
- What support is available and what is contractually guaranteed?
Frequently asked questions
Direct answers to the questions operators ask most often about security & data.
Where is CabTaxi hosted?
CabTaxi provides the current hosting and infrastructure details in writing during the evaluation process so operators are working from documented facts rather than assumptions.
Can I export my data?
Yes. A data export should be agreed as part of the commercial review so the format and scope are understood before go-live rather than at exit.
Does CabTaxi claim certifications or uptime guarantees?
No. CabTaxi will not publish certifications, uptime figures or integration claims that engineering has not verified and that cannot be supported contractually.
